Dear reader,
I would like to invite you to come on a journey with me. To take a second and open the window to my story and peer into what God has done and is doing currently with my life. It’s not a boring story, you don’t need to worry about that. But for the sake of time we’ll move quickly, let’s jump in shall we?
I was born into a very loving and God centered family. I am the eldest son of a family of 13. Our story is a bumpy one, so hold on tightly.
My dad has held many positions and worn many hats within my small lifetime, and in doing so I’ve learned very well that God will never call us to one specific role except that of a ‘disciple’ going and making more disciples for Christ’s glory. That role never gets turned off, we ought to be doing that wherever and whenever God gives us an opportunity to share his love through our words and deeds.
The conflict in this story is spread out and sprinkled into the details. I have had my share of hurting those I love, and I’ve also been hurt by those closest to me as well. The sad reality of living in a broken world means we have the unfortunate opportunity to see broken people getting hurt day in and day out. My family and my story is no exception.
But.
I still have to introduce the Protagonist to this story. His name is Jesus.
He’s been walking alongside me long before I could even say his name correctly. He died for me on a massive cross, and He’s guided me when I’ve run away from him time and time again, sometimes I think I know what’s best. When in reality I never ever will. God’s will and his story he’s writing has been and will always be the most amazing tale I’ll ever hear, and I get to see it firsthand each day.
I understood salvation at a young age, but the light bulb never went off in my head until I was in high school. The passage in 1 Corinthians that says…
Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Here I am. A couple years later doing my very best to bring God glory with everything I have.
Here’s the best part. Here, right now at this moment.
I’ve heard the call.
God wants me to Go and Make Disciples of all the nations. And I’m on my way to doing just that.
That’s why you’re here.
You want to help support me with either prayer, encouragement, or financially. Or you’re just passing through. And I implore you to pray and consider running with me, this calling isn’t just for me. This is yours as well in some shape or form.
I don’t believe in accidents or coincidences. God brought you to this little blog for a reason. I pray that The Call would be on your mind and heart as you go throughout your week.
That’s enough about me.
Would you like to see where God takes me?
I can’t wait to see what God’s going to do. We both know it’s going to be legendary.
Goodbye for now…
-Yours Truly, Mitchell
