Dear reader,

I recently received two letters. Both of them spoke volumes of love and encouragement to my heart during this crazy time in my life, more than I can explain using our human vocabulary.

The authors of the letters will be left anonymous. But I will share their ages.

One is 11, the second is 12.

These 2 Letters broke my heart. But in the best ways possible. Sometimes things need to be broken in order to be built back up in a better way.

I came home from a fundraising road trip to Illinois and Indiana this past weekend to a small letter on my desk. There was no name on the envelope so I didn’t know if it was for me or not, I left it sealed to be safe, and went about unpacking my things.

Later on that day the first author came and found me, asking if I had opened her letter yet. Once I realized what she was talking about I told her I would open it right away.

I walked back into my room, found the envelope, and opened it. It read this.

Dear Mitch, this was writing ina the morning so it’s very shakey. But here is some fundraising money. I love you, I hope you get to go! Yours truly ______.

Inside the letter was a Happiness Check. For unlimited hugs and kisses.

And One Penny.

The second letter was delivered to me this morning. The second author came into my room and said. “Here Mitch, this is for you.” And scurried out of the room as fast as he could.

As soon as I held the envelope I immediately started to tear up. I slipped the letter out and I read this.

“Dear Mitch, I’ve thinking and I want you to have this for your fundraising trip. I know it’s not a lot but thats the most I got I hope it helps a little. Signed ____.”

Guys, I kid you not I cried my eyes out for a good 11 minutes. The pure and selfless love a child gives to someone is eye-opening. They don’t ask for something in return, they just want you to feel loved.

In the second letter, the author had stuffed four dollars and three pennies.

God blessed me with four dollars and 4 pennies today.

I am rich.

These two gifts blew me out of the water. I will always cherish them for the rest of my life and remember how God uses anything He so chooses to bring about his will.

Today He chose to rock my world and fix my eyes on Him with the selfless giving of two children.

This morning before the second letter was delivered I read this in God’s Word.

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

I don’t know where you are in your story. I don’t know the trials that God is asking you to walk through. But, I do know that He is providing for you every step of the way. Everything you need, when you need it. And I will stand by that promise till the day I breathe my last.

I hope this lifts up your spirit. I know mine is on the highest peak at the moment, and I don’t want to come down anytime soon.

This is where we part ways yet again. There are two siblings that I want to go and give a tremendous hugs to, and maybe tickle them a bit as well. Who knows, I just want them to know how much I love them.

Sincerely,

-Mitchell
